THE PROJECT

The brief was to design a brochure for the photography and design company I currently work for. Without exception each of my designs for print and online are based on some kind of structure and grid. For this particular design I devised a modular grid of squares that created structure and symmetry to build the design within. The images were the main focus of the brief and take advantage of the flexible grid system by spreading across different amounts of modular spaces. The design communicates the brands high end visual services through a considered approach to typography, good use of white space and large, attractive imagery. As well as the grid the design incorporates custom designed elements such as arrows and pointers to add to the angular and modern feel. The brochure is printed on a luxurious paper stock and pro bound with a thick gloss cover for a lavish finish. Careful consideration was taken over the aesthetics of the design and is a testiment to how the smaller design details have an overall impact on the success of a design, I'm particularly satisfied with the map of the studio which displays the modular grid on a black background, this is a nice touch as it provides the audience with an insight to the structure of the brochure they've read, this idea also features faintly on the front and back cover to kind of show the skeleton of the document.
